Gulf Coast Premier League is excited to announce the addition of Tallahassee Soccer Club who will begin play in Spring of 2019.
The Gulf Coast Premier League is a national men’s soccer league with sixteen teams playing across three time zones. The league’s footprint now extends from North Texas to Tallahassee.
“We are thrilled for our inaugural season in the GCPL and the opportunity to play alongside like-minded clubs, united to grow the sport in our own communities’ and throughout the southeast,” said Tallahassee SC President Chris Petley. “We have seen the high level of play and competition in the GCPL, and we look forward to adding our TLHSC culture to the league.”
Tallahassee SC will join the GCPL’s East Division playing against teams such as AFC Mobile, FC Rangers and what we are sure will develop into a new Florida based rivalry against Pensacola FC. Games will be played on Saturdays at 8:00pm (EST) beginning in May of 2019.
“This is a big snag for the GCPL.,” said VP and director of Operations Jonathan Rednour. “The amount of work Tallahassee SC has put in to be a staple in their community, before they’ve even touched the field, will no doubt lead to a long and sustainable future for them.”
This past weekend, Tallahassee SC hosted more than 70 players as part of its first ever tryouts. The area is ripe with talent, and is home to state champion high school programs, FSU and FAMU students, a robust adult league in the Tallahassee Soccer Association, successful youth academy systems as well as having this year’s NAIA Sun Conference Champions, Thomas University Soccer just up the road. The combination of talent and community support will have Tallahassee SC set to compete.

**The Gulf Coast Premier League (GCPL), founded in 2014, originally operated as the Louisiana Premier League (LPL) under the auspices of the Louisiana Soccer Association (LSA) and consisted of all Louisiana clubs. In 2016 the league outgrew Louisiana, added member clubs from Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi, and rebranded itself as the “Gulf Coast Premier League.” From 2016-2018, the GCPL expanded again, adding additional teams from Florida, Mississippi, and Texas. Now, with 15 teams across 5 states, the GCPL is the standard of “elite amateur” soccer in the Southeast.
