The opening week of the Gulf Coast Premier League season found expansion team Northshore United FC looking absolutely dominant over Baton Rouge SC in a 4-1 victory.
The key that turned that engine was Rolando Sanchez who contributed to 3 of United’s 4 goals. Sanchez assisted on two goals and scored one himself in his club’s debut win. This performance has him named the Select Player of the Week.

A recent graduated from Holmes Community College in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Sanchez received the team MVP award for both his freshman and sophomore years at the Mississippi School. He was also invited to the school’s divisional all-star game where he was named Northern Division MVP of the Game. Sanchez has committed to finishing his student-athlete career at West Virginia Tech in Beckley. Sanchez joined the New Orleans Jesters (NPSL) as a high school freshman where he was a member of the team for five years.
Sanchez is a major component to Northshore United’s burgeoning club in Covington, Louisiana, and a player that will surely deepen the talent pool in the Gulf Coast Premier League this season.
