Lafayette, LA (Jan. 25, 2023) – The GCPL has announced the return of 2021 GCPL champions, Louisiana Krewe, as they continue to build pathways to professional and collegiate soccer for both local and out-of-state talent.

Since its creation, the LA Krewe has seen a steady increase in support from fans and supporters, who come together to cheer on the club that represents Acadiana and all of Louisiana with passion, dedication, and relentless drive. Despite their rapid growth in recent years, the Krewe continues to improve the soccer landscape in their region and build pathways to both professional and collegiate soccer.

“We know the standard of the league and that it is a great platform for both local and out-of-state talent to showcase their abilities at a high level and continue to progress in their soccer journeys,” said LA Krewe Director of Communications, Ricardo Caliman. “Rejoining the GCPL represents another step on the never-ending staircase we are looking to build for soccer players in Louisiana.”

The success of the LA Krewe is also a testament to the community behind the club. From club volunteers to supporters, sponsors, and fans, the community has played a crucial role in the club’s growth. “From our side, all our fans and supporters can continue to expect, first and foremost, the highest level of soccer, and the highest level of passion and dedication to the game we love,” said LA Krewe Head Coach, Joan Oliva. “Secondly, they can expect that we are not settling for where we are, and that our club keeps looking for ways to improve for both our personnel, and our supporters.”

“We are thrilled to welcome back the LA Krewe to the GCPL. Their commitment to building pathways to professional and collegiate soccer aligns perfectly with the mission of our league,” said league VP of Operations, Jonathan Rednour. “We have no doubt that their passion and dedication, along with the support of their community, will continue to elevate the standard of soccer in Louisiana for generations to come.”

“We are determined to put Louisiana on the soccer map,” added Caliman “We’re excited for the opportunity to once again compete in the GCPL and continue working towards our goal of providing a true pathway to professional soccer and high-level collegiate soccer.”

The Krewe will replace Cajun Rush in the men’s division and are set to play all of its home games at UL Lafayette Soccer Field.
