Motagua New Orleans goes a perfect 3-0 in the USASA Region III Open Cup and have been named Region III champions. They started their weekend off against the 2014 Region III champions, Triangle Brigade of North Carolina, and were able to squeeze out a 3-2 win in a very intense match.
In their second game they went head to head with Dallas TNT and secured a spot in the championship with an impressive 3-0 win. The final game was set against a familiar foe, NTX Rayados, who Motagua met in the 2014 competition and lost in the final minutes 2-1. This game however was much different and Motagua were able to claim their rights as Region III champions with a 3-0 victory.
Cajun SC also represented the Louisiana Premier League in the Regional Open Cup. They started their tournament off against 2013 Region III Champions, NTX Rayados, and came up short 2-0 in a great match. Their following game they faced off against Peshmerga of Tennessee and fell 2-1 after not finishing the many chances they had.
Pool Boys FC represented the Louisiana Premier League in the Regional Amateur Cup and had a good showing. Starting their tournament off with a 2-1 win over Rowlett Raiders FC of Texas, the Pool Boys FC dropped their final two games against ODA Cueva of Oklahoma, 3-0. and the Tampa Bay Kickers of Florida, 2-0.
