Hattiesburg FC Joins The GCPL As The Final Member For The 2019 Season
The GCPL has unveiled Hattiesburg FC as its latest, and last, member for the 2019 season. The Mississippi based side becomes the 5th team from Mississippi to join the GCPL.
Hattiesburg will compete in the Eastern Conference, joining fellow newcomers Tallahassee SC. The club has yet to announce it’s home field, but HFC’s executive director, Drew Siders, stated “We’re beyond thrilled with the facility we have in the works.”
“This is a club we’ve been speaking with for over a year now, and we’re happy to finally get them involved” said GCPL President, Jeremy Poklemba. “What interested us the most about HFC is their growing youth model along with their connections with one of the NAIA’s more prestigious programs in the US with William Carey.”
Hattiesburg FC is the 22nd club to join the GCPL since the league’s rebranding from the Louisiana Premier League in 2016.
“We are excited and honored about the opportunity to join the league.” Siders said. “Having a senior level will be a great addition to our club, along with offering a great opportunity to bring the community together to support our club shedding more light to the sport during the summer months.”
