GCPL players bringing in the college awards

New Orleans, LA (December 9th, 2022) – As the 2022 college season comes to an end, a plethora of GCPL players have made their mark representing their universities. 

On the women’s side, of the 163 GCPL players competing in college this season, 46 received accolades for their performance on and/or off the pitch. Some of the more notable were the Flowood FC sister duo, Avery and Erin Hederman, both earning All-American NCAA DII honors for their stellar play at Mississippi College; Mya Guillory (Baton Rouge United) who earned the Southland Midfielder of the Year award with her performance at Southeastern University; Kileigh Whited (Gulf Coast United) joins the Hederman sisters on the All-American NCAA DII list representing West Florida University and both Julia Herbst and Marianyela Jimenez (Hattiesburg FC) were named to the All-American NAIA list for their success at William Carey University. 

Representing the men’s side, Jose Sanabria (Gulf Coast Rangers) earned All-American NAIA honors with the University of Mobile; Trevor Reichman (Crescent City FC) topping First Team All Conference honors with Sewanee; league winners with Gaffa FC, Hardy Lewis and Soloman Naylor, earning All-Region 23 honors representing Copiah-Lincoln CC and Roberto Rangel (Hattiesburg FC) and Jeb Scarbrough (Gulf Coast Rangers) earning All-Freshman SSAC accolades for William Carey and the University of Mobile.

The league would like to congratulate all of our players who translated their GCPL experience to put on stellar performances for their college seasons.
