GCPL hires Sean Esker as Executive Director

The GCPL has hired Sean Esker as Executive Director for the 2020 season.

Esker, a Louisiana native, is currently serving as president of the Louisiana Soccer Association and has been involved at the state, regional and national levels for over 10 years.

“I’m thrilled to begin working with the Gulf Coast Premier League and its member clubs as Executive Director.” replied Esker. “It’s been exciting to see the growth of the Gulf Coast Premier League, and I am excited about the league’s potential for the next five years after seeing the growth from the last five years.”

“Sean is someone we know very well and have seen the positive changes he has made for the overall growth of soccer in Louisiana.” said league President, Jeremy Poklemba “This hire for us was a no-brainer, as we feel he’ll continue to help raise the bar for the GCPL and its clubs.”

Esker has been hired to oversee the league’s day-to-day duties and relieve a few of the responsibilities off of VP of Operations, Jonathan Rednour, who has been directed to shift his focus on league expansion.

Rednour mentioned “Building our office staff is part of the next phase for what we’re trying to accomplish. We needed to start with having someone who has a strong network with clubs and individuals from around the region. Esker fit the bill.”

The current Covington, LA resident will begin preparing the GCPL for its 5th year of competition as the premier league for the Gulf Coast region.

“This role is a great opportunity for me to give back to the game that has given me so much while working to improve opportunities for all of our members.” Esker added.

Sean can be contacted at admin@gcplsoccer.com
