GCPL Announces Newest Club From The Land of Acadiana: Louisiana Krewe FC
The Gulf Coast Premier League will be adding Louisiana Krewe FC from Lafayette, LA to the upcoming 2019 season. The Krewe, being connected with the local youth organization, Louisiana Dynamo Jrs, who has a partnership with MLS side, Houston Dynamo, will comprise of a pool of young, local talent, along with top level college and pro players. Stated in their mission statement below, the Louisiana Krewe have their sights on competing for the title right away.
Club Statement:
“Louisiana Krewe FC was born to become the link that joins grassroots amateur soccer to the professional game. All aspiring young players in Louisiana now have a pathway to pursue their soccer dreams locally. Krewe FC’s unique affiliation with Houston Dynamo of MLS, provides Louisiana players exceptional playing and training opportunities! Louisiana Krewe FC hopes to mirror the culture of Louisiana, A melting
pot made up of diverse backgrounds of players and coaching staff. The Club will offer a top notch Coaching staff made up of American and European talent. Louisiana Krewe FC promises to play an entertaining possession, attack based style.
We invite the entire soccer community of Louisiana, and particularly, Acadiana, to come celebrate “The Beautiful Game” with us this Spring!

Krewe FC will have it’s fair share of experience with former owner of the Louisiana Outlaws PDL club, Kevin Mooney, who also spent a year as goalkeeper coach for MLS Dallas Burn. Also adding experience to the Krewe will be head coach, Joan Oliva Peña, who spent 6 years as an academy coach at famed club, FC Barcelona.
With the league’s newest addition, we will soon see the first intercity derby in Lafayette between Cajun SC and Louisiana Krewe FC.
