Lafayette – Cajun Soccer Club have signed St. Vincent and The Grenadines midfielder Vasbert Ledger to their 2016-2017 roster.

Ledger, 21, a native of Barrouallie, St. Vincent and The Grenadines received his first call up to the national team in February 2014, playing in a friendly versus Dominica. In 2015 he featured in six CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying matches, including a 31 minute showing against the USMNT in Miami, FL.

“Playing as an international player, representing my country at the top level, I must say that it’s a whole different ball game.” said Ledger “The game is more competitive, physical and played at a very fast pace.”

Ledger joins the Lafayette outfit after coming to the states with aspirations to further his education and continue to develop as a football player. The St. Vincent and The Grenadines native is coming off of a successful season with his former club, System 3 FC, an amateur club out of Kingston, St. Vincent and The Grenadines that participates in the NLS Premier League. He helped lead his club to become league champions with 5 goals and 9 assists, appearing in all matches.

“I expect to bring great sportsmanship to Cajun SC,  also my knowledge of what i have gained from my past coaches. I am looking to help Cajun SC win the 2016/2017 GCPL. Hopefully I have a good season with them and show my skills and I hope that I get seen by a coach who is scouting players. I just want to keep improving as a player and hopefully I will have a great career.”
