About GCPL
The Gulf Coast Premier League (GCPL) serves as the leader in amateur soccer along the gulf coast. We offer a pathway for players, coaches, referees and club staff pursuing their sporting careers while assisting our member clubs to organically grow their brands in their communities. The GCPL is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization organized and operated with the ultimate goal of growing the game of soccer and its culture in the gulf coast. The GCPL is a member of the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).
GCPL Structure
The GCPL consists of two conferences, East and West, with each conference capped at 6 teams total. Regular season play begins early May and ends in early July. Playoffs begin in mid July and the final will be played on the last weekend of July at a neutral location.
League Format
The league will be a double round robin format for the regular season, where teams will play each other twice, once at home and once away, for a total of 10 games. The top teams from each conference will advance to playoffs.
LAMAR HUNT US OPEN CUP
The Lamar U.S. Open Cup is open to all members of the GCPL, providing a unique opportunity for both amateur and professional clubs to compete together in the oldest ongoing national soccer competition in the United States. The GCPL had two representatives qualify for the proper rounds- Motagua New Orleans in 2016 and Louisiana Krewe in 2020.
USASA NATIONAL AMATEUR CUP
The National Amateur Cup (NAC) is the premier tournament for USASA members. GCPL members are eligible to compete in the Region III tournament which qualifies for the NAC.
The National Amateur Cup Champion earns a spot in the US Open Cup and competes in the Hank Steinbrecher Cup.
