RWB Adria took on CD Motagua today in Virginia Beach, Virginia in the US National Open Cup Semi-Final. The game was set to take place at the Virginia Beach Sports Complex at 2 pm. The first half was tight with no goals scored and some solid chances by both RWB Adria and CD Motagua. However, after 45 minutes of play, the game remained tied at 0-0.
In the second half, both teams continue a fast paced game which largely consisted of RWB Adria attacking and CD Motagua counter attacking – but with Adria holding much of the possession. CD Motagua came close with a bicycle kick that was stopped by Markotic and cleared out by Adria’s back line consisting of Tracy, Jelicic and Younger. In the late minutes of the game a panic struck RWB Adria as what was though to be a goalkeeper foul was called as a penalty shot. However, the linesman corrected and no penalty was called.
